Soccer Fall Season Ends

Today (11/01/08) was Kaleb and Emily's final game day of the Fall Soccer season. YAY! :) They both did really well. Emily's team played so well together, but they did not win...much to Emily's dismay. The worst tragedy about all of this is that after taking two pictures of the game my camera battery died! So, one of the other moms is suppose to send me copies of their team picture...THANKS! click to ENLARGE
Luckily I had enough time in between games to run home and get my other camera. Kaleb's team played very well. Every player on his team scored a goal! They won and thus completed their third consecutive season undefeated! W.O.W. Kaleb's skills have really improved and his confidence and love of the sport has grown as well. Another mom from the green team, the Black Dragons played today, came up to me and asked if I was #2's mom. She told me that she had a GREAT picture of Kaleb that she wanted to share with me. I gave her my email address and that sweet woman sent it to me today! It is a very cute picture of Kaleb. Her little scrapbook look she did to it is darling as well. click to ENLARGE

The End of Fall '08

The end of Fall is near. The beautiful colors on the trees have faded to dull browns and oranges. Most of the trees have lost just about all their leaves. Believe me, they are all in our yard! lol Tennessee is just beautiful during the fall, I have really enjoyed driving around for the last month or so. I hope you enjoy seeing what we saw on some of our trips around town.

This last picture, though I was not trying to do this, makes me think of Christmas. Kinda cool....fall pictures leading up to a Christmas one...cheesy I know! LOL, oh well!

I'm here I swear!

Now that our Internet is finally reliable again...although I'm still not a com cast fan, I feel like I can let myself back into the blogging world! Ya that might sound crazy but when I couldn't blog-I had a million things to blog and it was making crazy that I COULDN'T. Now that I technically can, it's been hard to find the time to do it. So, tonight is blogging marathon night! WAHOO!

Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday #15
Uncle Michael 2006

Michael got home from his mission today! He is OFFICIALLY done. The kids had loads of fun blowing up balloons and decorating the front yard to welcome him home. Everyone here in TN and those not in school (poor Kaleb, Christopher, Kayleah and Sarah) planned to meet him at the airport with other signs of welcoming. Well...his flight was first delayed an hour once he arrived in Atlanta, Georgia and then it was all together cancelled. Emily was SO sad that she didn't get to go to the airport! Even sadder still was the fact that I had already given her Dramamine so she could handle the trip JUST before we found out we wouldn't be going to the airport! Poor thing was so groggy and cranky on top of that.

Fortunately I have a cousin that lives with her husband and three kids in Atlanta. They picked him up at the airport and started driving until they met up with my parents and Levi who started driving from here until they met somewhere in the middle at a Longhorn restaurant. The kids are so excited to see him in the morning. They have big plans to kidnap him in the morning and take him to our amazing doughnut shop here in town!

so sad...

Well, in case you're wondering why I haven't posted anything in forever!....and just so you know I have 6-count them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 posts in draft mode right now just WAITING for me to have the time to finish them...  We have comcast cable Internet.  and phone.  and cable tv.  It's a bundle package.  Total crap!  We have not had consistent service now for almost a MONTH and have had no Internet PERIOD since Thursday night of last week.

So, I have been steeling moments here and there from my already crazy and full days and nights to run over here to my good friend Jen's house *THANKS YOU'RE AWESOME* to use her computer.  I haven't had a whole lot of time when here to actually BLOG "Hannah style" :) yes, yes this makes me sad.  No shock to any of you I'm sure, I love to post the goings on of my adorable kids...and a little about my craziness as well. tee hee

The cable company is suppose to replace the pole and main supply system to our neighborhood-oh yes our WHOLE neighborhood has been suffering...grrrrr.  This is suppose to be done sometime this week.  We'll see.  NO, I don't have a whole lot of faith in that time frame.  Why you ask?  Because they have been coming out now for almost a month trying to fix this problem...they have missed appointments, come on the WRONG days and also shown up just to tell us there's nothing they  can do, they have to send a "special" crew out for this kind of problem.  Special...oh they're special alright.  humph.

A New Look

I wasn't sure if I was going to blog about this or not. I almost didn't have a choice because our Internet hasn't been very reliable lately...grrrr. *as it turns out when I tried to post my Internet died.* Tonight as I watched the polls come in for the Presidential Election of 2008, I felt a surge of emotions; Anticipation, inevitability, fear, hope, motherly, panic and finally loyalty.

Anticipation; You just can't help but feel anxious when watching a race - ANY race. Inevitability; As I watched the percentages coming in state after state, it felt as if the outcome was already decided...long before the polls ever opened up. Fear; I have never cried before tonight over a political election. I have always felt safe in this country-ALWAYS. Even after 9-11, I felt as though my country could and would keep me safe. Almost like the US was the safe room of the world, and I was one of the fortunate people to have the access code. I have the strangest sense that we have just given our Nation's access code to the world. All the while turning around and acting as if they don't have it. Hope; I might change this to Faith. Faith that a land that is choice above all others will remain as such. Motherly; I want the best for my children because I love them so deeply. I love my country very much. Is She being given the best we have to offer Her? Panic; How will our Nation react to either outcome...how will I? The world? Loyalty; Regardless of the Presidential Election outcome, I am a citizen of The United States of America. I will do ALL I can to PRESERVE and HONOR Her.

I love this country. July 4th is my most favorite holiday-next to Christmas. I can rarely get through the Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem or any patriotic song really without choking up with emotion. I feel such a sense of pride and honor that I was blessed to live in this chosen and choice land. I pray that our nation will remain a nation under GOD. A nation that stands for LIBERTY and JUSTICE. One where MORALS and VALUES are held to a standard higher than all others. A nation that LEADS the world, not one that conforms to it.

Two Saturday's ago we had a surprise visit from my sister Katie and niece Kumora. They came out to surprise Janece and be here for Calee's baby blessing. But after she bought her plane ticket Janece and Jeremy had to move the blessing day to Nov. 2nd-today. So, they came anyway and had LOTS of fun with us!

Emily will tell anyone that asks her that Kumora is HER little sister. When Janece was prego with Calee, Preslee was so excited to have a little sister. And who wouldn't be right?! :) Well, Emily started to feel a little jealous of this whole big sister stuff and decided one day that Kumora was her little sister. Bonus for Emily was that Kumora was born first! LOL...well she adores her and had the time of her life playing with her little sister. Here are a few pictures of the fun weekend.

Emily couldn't kiss and hug Kumora enough!
Seeing Calee and Kumora together was super adorable!

Helping Nanny KK give Kumora a bath was super fun! Emily liked using the sprayer! Kumora had her own thoughts about the whole invasion of her privacy...

Just 4 days after arriving Katie and Kumora had to fly home. We took them into Franklin for a day of hanging out before Kelly dropped her off at mom's work. Mom and Dad took them to the airport later that night. As a funny side note, we went to Franklin because they have a Once Upon a Child store there and we were hoping to sell some of our stuff for a decent amount of money. We were SORELY disappointed. It's a bit touchy to go into..LOL! After leaving OUAC, we trusted the GPS in Kelly's car to take us to a near by park for an impromptu picnic lunch. Well, after driving around in a couple circles...literally...we found a baseball park. It worked. We ate lunch and Preslee and Emily got to run around on a very nice baseball field that was completely empty! *there was even a treat for me...ahem* ANYWHO! We had a good time. The end. wink wink and a nod...

*I have added pictures from the shoot with facial expressions to help in this explanation...this is a random bonus from pictures that otherwise have NO use what-so-ever. enjoy*

Why did I do a photo shoot a few several weeks back? It's simple really. I needed a picture to go on the cover of my album. Since I didn't like the photographer that my producer picked, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Mind you, his WIFE was the photographer and her idea of a professional picture was to have me stand in front of a fireplace and smile. no. lie.

So, I set up a back drop, added some lighting, a little breeze from a floor fan and VOILA! Instant photo shoot. My friend Jen came over and pushed the button...THANKS you're a peach. She refused to be involved in posing, fan blowing etc. when I suggested she come take the pics instead of me relying on the timer...

'cause those turned out so well...
Just to be clear, she was unable to just PUSH the button. LOL...oh the crazy fun time we had taking these pictures.

My CD is out and it has a decent photo on it. *this is my Celine Dion impression. and no, it is NOT the picture I used...lol* However, baring some very good detective work on your part, you will never hear it. Why, you ask? Because the producer is a MORON! The whole track is very poor quality. He messed with my voice making the vocals sound higher up the scale than they were when I recorded. He used the first "this isn't real, let's just get this on tape so you can hear the balance etc between your voice and the music" track. So consequently I sang half heartedly. Well, for some reason he thought it would be a good idea to use that track instead of using a later track laid down that same night but was MUCH better. He could have even pieced parts from the different tracks and it would have been much better..but that would have involved a few hours of editing work. Which he said he was going to do! So, there you have it. THAT'S the story behind my photo shoot...sniff, sniff. This was a toad experience.
