Part 3...yep that's right...3

When you have exhausted ALL your schools allotted snow days and THEN some, you get LOTS of time in the snow. These pictures are from our last day or two of playing in the snow. The snow was packable but not so much sled-able *wink* so the kids packed it. They rolled it around into BIG snow balls all over the yard. Every few seconds Jenn and I were hearing, "MOM, can you please help me with my snowball?!"

Isaac was working on a snow fort. Doesn't he look tough? *wink*
Kayleah kept asking for help with her rolling her snow Emily came to help. Although I think she really just wanted to take advantage of an opportunity to pick on her older sister. What do you think?
Christopher was so proud of his snow ball! And he worked HARD on it.

Sarah and Gabriel started making what was supposed to be a HUGE snowman into a snow-HORSE. Don't know where the horse came from, but hey why not?!

They tried to recruit the other kids to help and some of them did for a bit, even little Liah! But Sarah and Gabriel stayed with it...Gabriel carving out the shape and Sarah packing it down!

Then somewhere along the construction Sarah calls out "Mom! Check THIS out!" What I saw had me laughing one of those GREAT mom laughs! Ya know, the laughs where you're thinking, "That's SO UNEXPECTED...and so WHERE did they get that from?!" Sarah yelled, I looked and saw my daughter up "on" the horse, backwards, with her arm over her head HOOTING and acting like she's ridding a mechanical bull!! SERIOUSLY!! Sarah never disappoints! LOL!

You might be wondering WHERE Kaleb is in all these pictures. WELL if you look closely at the picture with everyone working on the horse you can see him in the background. He had just thrown a snowball at them. Yep. He was trying SO hard to get a snowball fight going while everybody else was busy working on snow sculptures. So, naturally I put my camera up and CREAMED him! LOL! Kayleah tried to help him for a bit but she gave up quickly. *wink*

Real SNOW!! Part 2-Sledding for REAL

I did these post backward...part one is REALLY part two and part two is REALLY part one!

After being snowed in-literally for over 24 hours, we ventured over to our friends the Taylor's house for some super fun sledding! Their house sits right on a nice hill on their street that was PERFECT for sledding. The kids really surprised me with how far and fast they went. The favorite and best sled for both speed and distance was an old classic wooden metal sled. Kaleb was always so fast I couldn't get him on camera hardly. He was too excited when it was his turn to go down that by the time I turned around from taking pictures of something else he was already down the hill! LOL!

Kaleb is on the far right at the this run he crashed to the left soon after starting *wink*

treckin' back up the hill was tiring!
Sarah and Kayleah went "off roadin" with this run. They turned into the yard and on down into the landscaping. lol
Sarah on the same sled Kaleb crashed with. It was hard to keep the circular one going where you wanted.
Emily having a blast on the red sled! She liked to steer it...she would make it zig zag as she got to the bottom of the hill slowed down just a little.
This snow wasn't great for snow ball fights. The yard was one big ice block. Christopher kept finding "untouched" parts of the yard and would carve out big ice chunks. He kept trying to out do his last one! Emily didn't do too bad either. No, Kaleb wasn't trying like they were...he was fixin' to through his chunk! Despite the fact that it didn't make great snowballs, didn't keep the kids from throwing chunks of ice at each other. And yes, there were injuries!
Again, the type of snow this was didn't keep them from TRYING to make it another kind.

REAL SNOW!! Part 1-Sledding for REAL

Well, the kids had a BLAST with the "snow" earlier this year but we FINALLY got REAL snow! Five inches and for TN that's AMAZING! The kids have been out of school for 11 snow days. We are officially OUT of snow days for the anymore and we'll have to start making up days. blah! The first round of "real snow" was mixed with a lot of ice. This snow was GREAT for sledding in but not so great for snowball fights or building snowmen. *Thanks to my best friend Jenn for finding EVERYONE snow pants-you are the BEST!* So here are some pictures of the kids LOVING the real snow!
Can you see our road?...exactly.
Here we went sledding at the church...I realized AFTER I got this all put together that I did this backwards...GRRRR! Sooo this is day 3 of the snow sledding adventures. Day 1 will be in the next post. In case you're wondering day 2 was Sunday...and there's nothing to report there-lol. Monday morning we hurried over to the church before it all melted away for one more day of sledding fun.
We didn't have sleds to use until our friends the Taylor's arrived with theirs *wink* SO until then we used lids to tubs that we have A-PLENTY! They weren't too bad!
Sarah, Kayleah and Emily flying down the hill. I love how Kayleah is covered and protected in between her two little sisters! lol!
Serious Sarah...she was relentless!
Pile up!! Kaleb is there somewhere *wink*
This hill had a really good run on it. I was surprised how fast the kids flew down it.
Kaleb and Christopher both couldn't go fast enough!
The whole way down the hill Kayleah was screaming at Kaleb that he was going to crash into her. He was screaming and laughing with anticipation of just that! And yes, they did crash.
Emily is so light that she glided across the icy surface usually without making a mark! After her first good run she jumped up, looked at me and said "THAT was fun!" too

Ok people, I'm going private. SO many reasons...SO comment on this post if you want access please. I'm giving you a week. *wink*
